Job Title: Medical Representative

Location: Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi

Reporting To: Sales Manager

Department: Sales

Therapeutic Area: Pulmonology and Pain Management

 

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Achieve allocated sales target through planning & managing the assigned territory in such a way that all potential customers are visited regularly.

 

WORK RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product knowledge

Have thorough knowledge of the company’s products.

 

Territory Management

Have an up to-date territory record of doctors and all relevant healthcare practitioners.
Prepare territory sales achievement analysis.
Report to sales manager and other concerned internal stakeholders about market information relevant to pharmaceutical business.
Implement the sales and marketing strategy within the territory
Handle all key objections of healthcare professionals within the territory

 

Target Achievement

To promote a product portfolio by providing quality medical information to healthcare professionals to generate maximum prescriptions of our products as per allocated sales targets.
To take orders from customers to ensure that the company’s products are adequately stocked, consumption of suppliers is going on satisfactorily and obtain orders for items running out of stock.
Analyse your results on a regular basis and implement corrective and developmental actions if necessary to achieve the set target.

Promotion of company’s’ pharmaceutical products through detailing of products.

Possess excellent verbal communication skills.
Strong and fast learning ability
Able to think creatively and beyond standard practices
Strong Interpersonal skills                                
High degree of personal integrity and willingness to take responsibility for actions

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

A degree in Pharmacy or Health Sciences is preferred
A selling experience of pharmaceutical products preferably of multinational or good national company with sound knowledge of territory, doctors will be an advantage.

 

Medium term goal (2-3 years; in addition to above)

To acquire leadership skills.
Keep himself aware of the greater geographical area, its needs and sales potential
Establishes strong working relationships with key customers/opinion leaders and demonstrates accountability with a focus on customer services
